Not that this should surprise anyone at this point. But, it appears that the picture that is being spread around of Neda, (the young lady shot and killed in Iran) is not actually her Picture. It is a picture of another young lady named Neda Soltani, who is a Facebook user that is most assuredly alive.
The confusion seems to stem from how Facebook works, and now this Neda Soltani is afraid for her life, because she represents the struggle in Iran.
This really shows how bad information can move around the net with incredible speed, and just how it affects everyone involved, especially the person who’s picture is being used for this political struggle. I wonder if the news media will catch up with this, or will they just let it slide into history as one of those unanswered issues?
Update: There is an effort in progress to update all those using the wrong image to update the image. I am pretty sure that many of the images will go unchanged, as it has taken on its own life at this point.
