Unlocked iPhone firmware version 2.

This is a real problem if Palm wants to be competitive with Apple at all.  Rich applications, like those found on the iPhone (OK maybe not the bling program or Fart Program), help to really drive iPhone sales.  Plus, it creates a secondary industry to provide “Killer Apps” to the many iPhone users.

Palm only allows certain developers to obtain the SDK.  And the process of getting access is pretty steep.  Palm needs to release the SDK to the public, and allow the community to develop for the phone.  Right now with only 30 apps in the store, it doesn’t exactly drive me to want a Pre.

The Pre App Catalog Is Tracking Way, Way Behind Apple’s App Store. And It’s Palm’s Fault.
