Apparently Google has been caught off guard with BING. They are surprised that BING is getting much better search results than its previous incarnations, and they themselves are looking into the BING algorithm and how it differs from what Google is using now. This is interesting because the founders don’t generally get involved in the business of search now-a-days. So it tends to say that they are worried that Microsoft has come up with something that may take market share from Google.

I am not saying that they will be king here, but they will start taking market share from Google over time. We never thought Yahoo would loose to any search Engine. Yet look at what has happened since.
Don’t get me wrong.. I use Google myself the most. However, I am always looking for better ways to search and to find what I am looking for in the wild of the web. And Bing does bring in many improvements over the previous generations of search engines the MS has tried to push on us. Google also needs to be scared right now, as this will promote new thinking and improvements for us all due to the new competition.
